Yesterday, when he checked, it had gone (via a different registrar, not the one where he had done the lookup). I said that this had to be a coincidence, e.g. both of them might have been to Aaron Wall's site and decided independently to get an .au version of his domain. On the other hand, I have checked dotcoms that were apparently available but when I tried to buy them, they showed as being sold many months earlier. Some registrars seem to have old data at times.
